Music and Movement

Children enjoy music! We are a musical family and we share this passion with our VivaKids students. Music and songs play an important aspect in a child’s developmental stages. It helps to improve their brain power, to develop social skills, and to build their confidence. It also inspires creativity and teaches them patience and discipline. Our Viva kids are exposed to the brazilian culture and traditions while learning our “cantigas de roda” (children’s songs), poems and dances. We give them opportunities to express themselves through music with the many instruments they have access to. We also provide insight into the basic building blocks of music that form harmony, melody and rhythm. Movement opportunities are given through dance and choreography and also through physical activities like running, jumping, skipping, hopping, kicking, throwing balls… We understand young children are naturally active and are generally always on the move. We provide plenty of moments for them to be active and healthy throughout the day.
