Hello everyone! I am Ms. Symone, the proud owner and director of VivaKids Preschool! We all have to agree that COVID pandemic has brought many challenges to our lives. I found myself without a job because the preschool I was teaching at closed. So I had to reinvent myself and started tutoring kids at my home, which sparked in me the desire to open my own preschool. I commit to sharing my values as well as my Brazilian background and culture with everyone here at VivaKids. Although I am fluent in 3 languages (Spanish being the third), there is no better way to express love than in my first language. I feel privileged being able to show love to my Vivakids at my full potential! I have two wonderful kids who are now preteens. Together, we enjoy making music, cooking, playing board games, and many other outdoor activities including hiking, camping, SUPing, and traveling. Something new I have been learning is how to play the piano so I can provide a more engaging atmosphere to our Vivakids during our devotional and music time. It amazes me how children find joy in the simple pleasures, how quick they are to accept others without judgement, how they live in the moment and see no limitations for who they want to be or what they want to accomplish. For these reasons and many more, teaching has been my passion since day 1. It is a mutual learning experience!!! I welcome you and your little one with open arms to our Viva family where together we will do GREAT things!

I was born and raised in Brazil. I have been living in Oregon since 2002. Throughout my life, I have enjoyed being around kids. I worked in a childcare facility for many years and I am excited to use my knowledge here at VivaKids. I am a proud mother and grandmother to 2 amazing kids. Vovó means grandma in Portuguese and my heart has space for many more grandchildren. Some of my hobbies are camping, hiking and connecting with nature and God. I play the accordion and I share my talent with our students here. I like to eat healthy food and cooking is one of my passions. It makes me happy to serve my “comida de vó” (grandma’s food) to my Viva kids. Being around children is a fantastic opportunity to receive and give love. I pray that God’s light and pure love is reflected by my actions each and everyday!
